Dasypus novemcinctus
Dasypus novemcinctus - This is the same armadillo as in the above photograph. With its long claws, it dug a hold in the soil and stuck its snout into it to extract a beetle or beetle larva.
Dasypus novemcinctus - This is the same armadillo as in the above photograph. You can see its long claws used for quickly digging holes to extract beetles and their larvae which the armadillo can smell up to six inches beneath the soil.
