Information

The Snail Kite is listed as an endangered species by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the United States Fish and Wildlife Service (Rostrhamus sociabilis plumbeus -- Everglades Snail Kite).
The Snail Kite feeds almost exclusively on Apple Snails (Pomacea sp.), which is where the bird gets its name.
